Long nozzles are specially designed to apply products in 400mL cartridges. They are 170mm long and mix the two components with a 1:1 ratio, ensuring a completely homogeneous plastiform at the outlet.
This injector is exclusively used with 400mL cartridges, it wont work with any other product in 50ml cartridges or with bottles or cans of the XL products.
Its length allows it to easily reach the bottom of large cavities for replication, and its diameter does not obstruct the part entry. It is mainly used to control large-scale parts.
When the two components enter the injector, they mix and begin to polymerize, causing the product to start hardening. This is why you should take your whole impression in one time or you might have to use another nozzle.
If the product polymerizes inside a long injector, it becomes unusable and must be discarded.
Long nozzles are not compatible with tips at their end.
To attach the long injector to a 400mL cartridge, unscrew the cap from the cartridge and place the injector in its place before mounting the assembly on the DM-400 applicator gun or any other Plastiform dispensing material.
The part you want to check must be degreased with DN1, a Plastiform-validated degreaser.
Be careful, as soon as you pull the trigger, the mixing of the two components will start in the injector. Avoid wasting time with a product in the process of being mixed in your injectors.
Looking for a complete kit to try plastiform?
The case contains all required accessories to use Plastiform. It is the best way to try our solutions for the first time!
Impressioning can work without problems underwater, and more generally in any environment without oxygen.
Can anyone use Plastiform products?
Yes, anyone can use Plastiform products as long as they follow the instructions provided with each product. While no specific training is required, we strongly recommend adhering closely to the guidance in the technical documents. If you have any doubts, a series of explanatory videos is available to help clarify your questions. If these do not resolve your concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
How to clean the injection material after taking the impression ?
You don't need to clean the material. The nozzle is going to trash and the tip is reusable after extracting the polymerized material inside it.
What are nozzles and tips used for?
The nozzle should be attached at the end of the cartridge, ensures that the two components of the plastiform mix homogeneously before application. It is a consumable item and must be replaced after each use. The tip, which is fitted at the end of the nozzle, reduces the flow rate. This is particularly recommended for fluid plastiforms to achieve optimal application accuracy, especially in fine details. The tip is reusable and can be cut to increase the flow if needed.
Is it necessary to have a designated space set up for taking an impression?
While plastiforms are designed for use in metrology laboratories, they can be utilized in various environments such as workshops, outdoors, and on production lines. However, it is crucial to ensure that the area to be examined is properly cleaned and degreased to maintain the quality of the impression. We recommend using the degreaser DN1, a Plastiform-certified product, for optimal results.
What does “working time” means?
The "Working time" is the period during which a Plastiform can be altered after injection, maintaining its initial consistency. This means that the chemical reaction between the two components has not yet progressed to the point where the impression begins to harden.
What does “curing time” means?
The "curing time" is the period after which the impression can be removed from the part following its injection. This is when the impression has achieved approximately 80% of its final hardness, enabling its removal from the form to be replicated.
What does “polymerization time” means?
The "polymerization time" is the time required for the impression to reach its final hardness, such as 20 Shore A for F20, 50 Shore A for F50, etc. This indicates when the impression is fully usable, particularly for precise dimensional measurements.
