Re-FORM is a thermoplastic resin designed to support or rigidify parts, or to protect them against clamping.
When heated to over 60°C, it becomes transparent and malleable. You can then shape it by hand to create a form that adapts to your needs.
Once cooled, it becomes extremely rigid, allowing it to protect or reinforce a part.
The Re-FORM is extremely hard and durable in its solid state, but it can be manually shaped when it reaches a certain temperature. This makes it a very easy-to-use yet efficient product.
It’s a product that can be very practical during various machining processes. The Re-FORM is a product specifically dedicated to protect, maintain or reinforce parts.
During machining, most fragile or small parts are subjected to vibrations or weakening. A thermoplastic resins such as the Re-FORM easily solve this problem.
When the Re-FORM is applied inside a part or as external reinforcement on a fragile part, it makes it more robust for the machining operations you need to perform.
Last but not least, when Re-FORM is heated again, it’s easy to remove, leaves no trace, and is infinitely reusable.
When heated at a certain temperature (60°C), the Re-FORM becomes soft and malleable.
At this point, you can shape it as needed and apply it to your part.
Once malleable, you can handle the resin by hand, but we recommend that your wear protective gloves.
Here is how to proceed
Immerse a sufficient amount of Re-Form in a bowl of water heated between 65°C and 80°C.
Use a stick to stir the Re-Form to ensure it becomes completely malleable.
Remove it from the water and shape it according to your needs.
Position the product on your application area and let it cool.
Be careful not to use this product on parts that generate high temperatures, as this could soften the Re-Form and make it malleable again.
Re-Form is reusable. Repack it in its original packaging, even if it has been damaged during machining. You just need to heat it up again to reshape it for your next application.
Looking for a complete kit to try plastiform?
The case contains all required accessories to use Plastiform. It is the best way to try our solutions for the first time!
No, the impressions won't stick with Re-Form. This is why you can use Re-Form to hold parts in place during the impression-taking process.
How long does it takes for the Re-FORM to harden?
The only factor to consider for Re-Form to harden is its temperature. It usually takes around 10 minutes to cool down in a room at approximately 20°C.
How many times can we reuse the Re-FORM?
There is no limit to its use. You can indefinitely reuse Re-Form as long as you can heat it up to make it malleable again.
Within the framework of the REACH regulation, are Plastiform products pre-registered?
None of the chemicals used in the composition of Plastiforms are listed in Annex XVII of REACH.
How should products be stored?
Products must always be stored between 15°C and 28°C, in their original packaging, and with the cap facing upwards. Cartridge plastiforms have a shelf life of up to 3 years, which remains unchanged even after they are opened. For more detailed information, please consult the technical data sheets.
