With over 50 years of expertise, we have developed a comprehensive procedure that simplifies Impression Taking, making it as straightforward as child’s play.
Clean your part from residus
Residual grease, dust, or other substances can hinder the polymerization and accuracy of the impression. It is essential to eliminate them using a degreaser approved by Plastiform.
Take the Impression
After ensuring the part is clean and dry, install the cartridges and proceed to take the impression using the necessary accessories. Plastiform allows you to replicate hard or impossible to access areas for your measuring devices.
Bring your visual inspection to a whole new dimension
Plastiform reproduces surface details without the noise created by metal or plastic materials, making it easier to spot defects in the original surface.
Inspection of surfaces using replicas enhances efficiency and accuracy, enabling quality assurance teams to identify and assess issues faster.
Measure your impressions and never bother again about part destruction or dismantlement
The easiest way to step away from destructive control
With Plastiform it is not anymore required to destroy some parts to check for their surface roughness. Just take an impression and measure it directly.
Cost-effective, yet super accurate and compatible with all devices.
Plastiform Impressions possess micron-level resolution, enabling the replication of part dimensions with an accuracy of ± 1 µm.
Clean, Safe, Durable.
Shape memory & no Shrinkage.
Replicating a part is safe, and the impressions can be disposed of using the regular waste system. They can also be preserved for years for archival purposes.
Control the Dimensions of Your Parts Without Any Worries
Cost EffectiveA control using Plastiform costs, on average, less than $5, making it one of the most cost-effective methods for non-destructive dimensional inspections.
No ShrinkageDuring polymerization, Plastiform does not lose any volume, ensuring the preservation of internal dimensions throughout the entire process.
Fast and EasyConducting a control with Plastiform is fast and simple, taking under 10 minutes and requiring no technical skills, making it an efficient, user-friendly solution.
Safe and CleanPlastiform products can be used without special precautions, and the impressions can be disposed of through regular waste processes.
Shape Retention MemoryThe impression retains its shape and dimensions, even when significantly stretched during extraction.
Micron ResolutionPlastiform products reproduce all details of a part with precision better than 1 micron, making them the most accurate replicas available on the market.
Can a conventional Roughness Meter be used directly on the impression?
A Roughness meter should only be used on rigid products, such as the P80 Ra, which is specially developed for this application.
What is the purpose of the Double Blade Cutter?
The Cutter has been specially developed to facilitate the use of Plastiform impressions. It allows a slice to be cut in the axis of an impression in order to exploit its profile more easily on optical measuring instruments. It is customizable according to your needs.
What does “polymerization time” means?
The “polymerization time” is the time required for the impression to reach its final hardness, such as 20 Shore A for F20, 50 Shore A for F50, etc. This indicates when the impression is fully usable, particularly for precise dimensional measurements.
What is the polymerization (curing) time of the products ?
Like for every product, the curing time is indicated on the Technical Datasheet.
What are the storage requirements?
All our products must be stored at room temperature (20°C) in their original packaging to preserve the technical characteristics indicated on the label.
What do the colors of the products represent?
The colour of the product is only a visual indicator that allows products to be easily distinguished.
What is the life span of the products?
Unused products can be stored for up to 3 years. Once opened, the product remains usable for up to 1 year. The replicas produced have an unlimited shelf life.
What is the temperature range for the use of this product ?
We recommend using at temperatures ranging from 0°C to 50°C. For best results, we recommend using and storing the product at room temperature, around 20°C.
Don’t take our words for it!
There is thousands of people using Plastiform every single day.
“The Plastiform worked very well. We find it helpful to capture the condition of inaccessible features on injection molded parts and tooling. I like the large variety of your products that are not available from competitors. The different viscosities and hardness levels are very helpful.”
A.E. @Stone Plastics
“Plastiform’s products have enabled us to carry out high quality non-destructive testing on aircraft parts, saving time and production for our customers.”
P.S. @Liebherr Aerospace
“We’ve been super happy with the set we ordered. We’ve been able to examine our internal threads on our vision system which has been really helpful for our QC team.”
